Howaida Saleh

Howaida Saleh (b. 1967, Minya, Egypt) is an Egyptian novelist, literary critic, translator, and academic. She holds an MA and PhD in literary criticism and has taught aesthetics, theatre, and literary criticism at several Egyptian and Arab universities. She is currently editor‑in‑chief of the cultural magazine “Misr al‑Mahrousa”, published by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. Saleh has published several novels and short‑story collections, including “Sugar Candy”, “Amrat al‑Dar”, “Ishq al‑Banat”, “Room 13”, “Houses Haunted by Spirits”, and “Passages of Loss”, as well as critical studies and translations from English
